FACT OR MYTH?
Many deodorants claim to provide 24-48 hours of odor protection. Some even claim up to 72 hours of protection!
But do those deodorants actually keep you smelling fresh for as long as they claim? Let’s take a closer look.
LAB TESTING LIMITATIONS
For a deodorant to carry a 24-48 hour label, it has to pass certain lab testing requirements. However, these lab tests are often limited in scope, and many dermatologists acknowledge that lab conditions don't replicate real-world deodorant usage. And this is further illustrated by the fact that most deodorants that carry the 24-48 hour label still recommend that you apply their deodorant daily.
SHOWER FREQUENCY
Most people shower daily, and any deodorant applied previously is getting washed down the drain. So, even if your deodorant did give you 24-48 hours of odor protection, do you really even need that much?
REALITY
Everyone is different, and our bodies perform differently. Deodorant performance can vary significantly from day to day. Movement, sweating, and friction all cause deodorant to wear off and lose its potency. For most people, deodorant typically lasts for less than a full 24 hours. We’ve found that 12 hours tends to be the most realistic expectation. And for some people, finding a deodorant that works for even 8 hours feels like a win.
We took all of this into consideration when formulating Beardbrand Utility Deodorant.
We wanted a natural deodorant that smelled awesome for a solid 12+ hours, didn’t cause skin irritation, and didn’t leave marks on our shirts. And Beardbrand Utility Deodorant checks all 3 of those boxes.
But where we have found that our deodorant excels compared to others is in how fresh it leaves your armpits feeling and how easy it is to reapply throughout the day if you need an extra boost in odor protection.
If you haven’t used Beardbrand Utility Deodorant yet, grab a bottle and give it a shot. Try it for up to 120 days, and if you find you don’t love it, you can still return it for a full refund.
