Many of you are waiting on a Utility Beard Wash and Utility Beard Softener restock. We fully expect those products to become available again over the next couple of weeks, with one change to the product: Wash and Softener will now come in an 8.4 fl oz. bottle instead of the 14 fl oz. bottle we've sold since 2022.
Why the change?
We have faced economic pressures for the Wash & Softener. Our materials costs have gone up quite a bit since we launched this product in 2022. We’ve been eating those costs over time. There are two primary ways companies normal handle rising costs: Make small gradual modifications to formulations to save money. At first the change is not noticeable. Then each version they tweak gets further and further from the original product.
Or under fill packaging slightly over time so that customers don’t notice. It’s done gradually year over year until that original 64oz packaging somehow ends up being 46oz.
We don’t operate that way.
I’d rather maintain sanctity of the product even if it means we get fewer sales and I’d rather be transparent with the reasons instead of ignoring the changes. So our reality was either keep 14 fl oz. packaging but at a price well over $40, or go with a smaller bottle that drops the price to the low $30’s (and $20’s on subscription). Yes, price per ounce is higher than our old bottles; but what you aren’t seeing is what the price per ounce would have been if we restocked the 14 fl oz. bottles at the higher prices. Most guys will get around 2 months of usage with the new 8.4 fl oz. bottles and should cost around $15/month each on subscription. Personally, I think there’s no better shower experience than one you get with our Wash & Softeners. I know how hard y’all work to make your money. If you still choose to support Beardbrand, it means the world to me. If money is tight and you need to move to different solutions, I understand. We will be here with the same great products when you’re in a better spot. It brings me great joy that we’re able to serve you. Keep on Growing!
