Introducing: Yousef Gnaoui

“I think it would be beautiful if we, as a world, focused a bit more on us instead of me.”

For Dutch music artist Yousef Gnaoui, every day starts with wanting to be inspired and to make things that are as beautiful as possible. “To the absolute max of my ability”, as he puts it himself. It’s the people around him that inspire him – his partner and son, for instance – but also the current state of the world. “In everything I create, I simply try to listen to what the world is telling me.” That is why his recent musical output focuses on the political climate as well as empathy and self-reflection. Heavy topics, but in Yousef’s case they go together with danceable beats.
