New Arrivals from Provence

The iconic pink classics that set the global rosé standard, the structured Mourvèdre-rich rosés of Bandol, the rare mouthfilling whites of Cassis and Bandol Blanc - and the brooding, garrigue-scented Bandol reds that collectors seek out. The south of France is a region, not a category, and right now it's drinking beautifully.

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars KARIA Chardonnay 2024

From the winery that won Paris in 1976. The KARIA (Greek for "graceful") comes from cooler southern Napa sites and shows it - bright lemon oil, orchard fruit, melon, floral tones, vanilla, and gentle oak. Lees aging in French oak adds depth without burying the freshness. Balanced, versatile, and food-friendly.

Dr. Loosen Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett 2023

Two centuries of Mosel winemaking - ungrafted old vines on steep, slate-rich Grosse Lage sites. Ernst Loosen's approach is deliberately restrained: spontaneous fermentation, long lees aging, total emphasis on vineyard expression. The result is Riesling with precision, mineral depth, vibrant acidity, and the capacity to age beautifully for decades.

Critics' Picks Under $40

Outstanding wines at exceptional prices - curated to 94 points or higher, all under $40. The critics did the work; you just have to pick the bottles.

Sauvignon Blanc Around the World

No grape shows its address more clearly. Plant it in Loire limestone and it turns flinty and tense; in Marlborough sun and it explodes with passion fruit; in Napa it goes rich and rounded; on Chile's Pacific edge it gets bracingly saline. Four bottles, one varietal, and a built-in tasting flight on your kitchen counter. Start anywhere.

That's the week. Drink well.
