If you've never tried a Calathea, honestly, they're pretty magical. The leaves actually fold up at night and open in the morning like they're going to sleep and waking up. Plus, those patterns? Unreal.
A few of my favorites:
- Calathea Medallion: The more forgiving of the bunch; it bounces back from the occasional neglect with ease.
- Calathea Rattlesnake: If you're worried about watering, the leaves will tell you when it's thirsty by curling slightly.
- Calathea Roseopicta: Keep the soil slightly damp (not wet), and it'll reward you with those stunning pink markings.
Quick care tip: Calatheas can benefit from filtered water. I personally leave a watering can full of tap water out overnight, then water in the morning.
