Charlotte Figi experienced her first seizure at just a few months of age. By the time she was six, she was experiencing more than 300 seizures each week and had entered hospice care. As a last resort, her parents administered a CBD tincture to Charlotte. After starting the tincture, Charlotte experienced a significant reduction in seizures and was able to start moving without a wheelchair and laughing again.
Charlotte's parents, Paige and Matt, decided to share her story, and to advocate for other parents and families of children with seizure disorders. Their efforts led to legislative changes that helped ensure access to CBD for millions of children and adults.
In 2020, Colorado's Governor officially declared April 7 as Charlotte Figi Day. We take this day to remember Charlotte's story and honor her legacy of increasing access to CBD.
