Meet Brigette: MTN Athlete ⛰️

We are excited to welcome Brigette Takeuchi to the Teva team!

Nicknamed “Bear,” Brigette is a mountain athlete and photographer based in the PNW. She thrives on long days in the mountains, whether on foot or skis, and seeks to balance her athletic pursuits with her passion for capturing the landscapes she is fortunate enough to encounter.

Q&A with Brigette Takeuchi

Q: Where can we find you geographically?

A: I'm currently residing in Squamish, British Columbia, on the unceded territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation).

Q: Where are you? (Specific trail, mountain, etc)

A: I grew up in Washington State! My heart forever lies in the North Cascades.

Q: Tell us about your favorite outdoor pursuits?

A: I love traveling to remote mountain places, whether by ski or on foot. Long days in the mountains, leaving me both exhausted and rejuvenated, are my bread and butter.

Q: What is it that draws you to the mountains and being outside?

A: I go to the mountains to find a sense of belonging. I feel most like myself when I'm immersed in nature and connected to the landscapes around me.

Q: Any upcoming adventures planned?
A: Yes, as many as I can before shoulder season hits. I'm currently training for a few fall and winter races and aiming to maximize my time in the mountains while racking up some vert.

Q: What Teva shoe are you really into right now and why?
A: I'm really enjoying the Trailwinder right now. It's lightweight, comfortable, and has just the right amount of grip for ridge scrambles and alpine runs.

Q: Why are you excited to be on the Teva team?

A: Teva, to me, embodies a versatile approach to movement. I’m drawn to the playful design of their products and am stoked to put them to the test.

Q: What's a fun fact about yourself?
A: Fun fact: My nickname is “Bear,” which becomes especially entertaining in the Fall when my friends shout it out on the trail, inadvertently alarming everyone within earshot.
