At Stanford GSB, you’ll experience a program and curriculum that is both inventive and unparalleled. We believe how you learn, who you learn from, and where you learn makes all the difference. Our world-class faculty use innovative methods to teach you how to think and lead in real time, rather than just discussing what others have done in the past. Instead of only reading about protagonists, we want you to become one.

How you learn: digesting, doing, leading

Our curriculum is taught in an active learning environment. Case studies introduce you to management principles, but they are complemented by more modern teaching methods that include small group seminars, simulations, role plays, and other experiential classes. Faculty choose the class style that best suits the subject matter and how students learn.

Action Learning Program
This set of immersive courses provides hands-on learning experiences through team projects that require students to solve real business challenges.

Who you learn from: world-class faculty and industry practitioners

Stanford GSB’s faculty include renowned academics as well as industry leaders — people who know the theory and people who have put it into practice. Experts in their fields, their experience and unique perspective help them present the subject material through a personal and practical lens. Many courses are co-taught by tenure-line faculty and industry lecturers — the best of both worlds. Where you learn: Silicon Valley and around the globe Located in the heart of the Bay Area, we have the unique advantage of drawing from the experience of innovators, investors, and leaders who live and work right next door through guest lectures, speaking engagements, and even as mentors. As part of our robust curriculum, we encourage GSB students to explore courses across Stanford's campus to gain a multidisciplinary perspective, and 85% do so. Every MBA student also has a required global experience during their time here, which broadens their global business perspective.

The Global Experience Requirement
Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and beyond are all within reach through a variety of different global experience programs. This experience is different for everyone — from hands-on work projects to broader cultural exchanges. Alumni often recall their global experience as the highlight of their time at Stanford GSB.
