Washington Sanctions Girls Flag Football As Official High School Sport
"We believe that everyone should have the access and opportunity to play football, and the momentum we've seen for girls flag has been incredible," Mario Bailey, Seahawks vice president of community engagement & legends said. "Sanctioning girls flag is an amazing step in giving these girls a new avenue to pursue playing flag football in college and beyond."
Washington joins Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Mississippi, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania and Tennessee as the 15th state to sanction the sport at the high school level.

Seahawks, Delta Air Lines, and American Red Cross Partner to Host Successful Blood Drive at Lumen Field
On May 5, 2025, the Seattle Seahawks joined forces with Delta Air Lines and the American Red Cross to host a community blood drive at Lumen Field. Delta, the largest corporate sponsor of American Red Cross blood drives in the United States, played a key role in making the event a success.
We welcomed 50 generous donors whose contributions will help save lives and adding to the spirit of the day, Seahawks Safety Julian Love and Seahawks Legend Marcus Trufant were on-site to thank donors and show appreciation for their selfless acts.

Terry Liikala Honored As A Seahawks Delta Community Captain
While volunteering at a Seahawks Blood Drive hosted at Lumen Field, Seahawks and Delta employees surprised long-time American Red Cross community member, Terry Liikala, with the Delta Community Captain award. As a passionate and active Red Cross volunteer, Terry has served in multiple roles including disaster responder, blood donor, and blood donor ambassador.
