1929: Arnold Palmer, aka The King, was born in a working-class family in Pennsylvania. He needs no introduction, but Palmer won 95 pro titles, including seven major championships. He was also one of the first inductees in the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974. 1947: The three-time major champ Larry Nelson was born in Alabama. Though Nelson took up golf at the age of 21, he went on to win 41 pro titles in his career. 1997: Brooke Henderson was born in Ontario. The highest-rated Canadian female golfer has two majors to her name. 2006: Patty Berg, who has the 4th most wins (60) on the LPGA, passed away at the age of 88. One of the founding members of the LPGA, Berg won 15 major championships.
