3 Stealthy Endocrine Disruptors (Workout Edition) Last week we called out endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDC’s) that lurk in the bath. This week we’re looking at our workouts. 1. Sports bras and leggings Many products, even those with a clean ingredient list, come in plastic containers which often contain endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDC’s) called phthalates. Phthalates are especially common in tubes since they’re used to make plastic more pliable. EDC’s from plastic packaging can leach into products like toothpaste, body lotion, shampoo, and soap. 2. Yoga mats EDC's from industrial waste and pharmaceuticals end up in our tap water. So brushing teeth, soaking in the tub, and breathing the steam from a long, hot shower can expose us to endocrine disruptors. Consider filters for your bathroom tap and shower. 3. Class clean up Many of us know to avoid scent, but products labeled "unscented" can contain synthetic fragrance used to mask natural odors. Take steps to protect your hormones and reduce your exposure to endocrine disruptors. Add SuperBeauty® to your daily lineup to support your body's natural detox channels with Liposomal Glutathione. |
