When I first started, the concept of wearing a suit in the New York heat was harrowing. Luckily, it’s my job to get up close and personal with our products—and I’ve got the inside scoop on which pieces balance comfort and style best.
- Fabric is everything. You think you can power through the commute in a year-round blazer until you get on a train without A/C. Invest in cotton and/or linen styles, like our Breeze Stripe fabric, which is a combo of both. I like to wear the Nicky jacket as a buttoned-up set for work or draped over my shoulders in place of my usual denim jacket.
- Loosen up. This is your permission to ditch your stiff suit in the warmer months and rely on slightly more relaxed styles like the Teddy blazer and Fitz trouser. The pinstripe pattern is timelessly chic and conveys competence.
- Shapeshift a little. I encourage you to experiment with silhouettes. Replace your sleeved blazer with a coordinating vest—like the Kasa vest paired with the Tinsley trouser—or stick to classics on top like the Teddy, and swap the Olia skirt for your usual slacks.
Once you find your summer suiting sweet spot, you'll actually look forward to getting dressed in the morning. These pieces have been total game-changers for me, and I'm excited for you to try them, too.
XOXO,
Angie
