Hi there,
Interviewing for a new role can feel like a full-time job. On top of the company research, the skill tests, and the interviews themselves, you need to find the perfect outfit that impresses but doesn’t distract.

- For the phone screening: Throw on a jardigan! No, they won’t see you, but you’ll feel comfortable and exude confidence.
- [HR Tip: Make sure you’re somewhere without too much background noise, and do some research on the company before the call.]
- For the Zoom round: You only need to nail waist up. Pair a solid-colored blouse with your trusty jardigan and complementary earrings. Throw on some swishy work culottes to complete the look.
- [HR Tip: Sit somewhere where the background isn’t too busy or distracting, and silence your computer notifications.]
- For the hiring manager round: Time to level up your look. Wear a tailored dress under your jardigan and comfortable heels. If the office is a bit more casual, trousers, top, and flats will do just as well with your jardigan.
- [HR Tip: Don’t sacrifice comfort too much here; you need to be able to sit without fiddling, walk without wobbling, and talk for an extended period of time without worrying about sweat, bra straps, and hems rising up.]
- For the final round: You’ll have a better sense of the office dress code by this point, but you’ll also likely be meeting executives for this round, so don’t get lazy! Pair your top from your Zoom interview with a pair of suiting pants and a blazer; if the office is more formal, a matching suit is preferred
- [HR Tip: If you’re not used to wearing a suit, add a touch of your personality with a piece of jewelry, lipstick, or a belt that feels like your signature style.]
Good luck, you’ve got this!
Warmly, Hanna Director of HR
