As an Italian-Canadian who has lived in Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, New Zealand, the UAE, and Ethiopia, Simon Filice has a multicultural outlook on the world. You can see that in his eclectic designs: One Card Maze, Hand of Cthulhu, Fave Game, Dirty Truth, Beginner Briscola, and Starter Scopa. He is also the cofounder of Micro May, a celebration of small-format tabletop games and creators. When he isn't teaching music or game designing, Simon is making digital art or playing music at school or venues around Addis Ababa.

Pocket Puffins: Lost in Space |
"Pocket Puffins is my kind of game for a number of reasons! It's in a small little wallet for travel, it's an 18 card game, and it is super replayable because of all the possible arrangements. I just love a short, puzzly game in a wallet! I also love the Kickstarter Campaign! I think Pay What You Want is such a cool concept because it works so well for backers and creators! Don't miss paying what you want for this!" |

Video Games Are Leveling Up on Kickstarter |
So far this year, video games on Kickstarter have reached a notable milestone: four campaigns have already raised more than $500,000, including two that crossed the $1 million mark. And that's just in the first few months.
In comparison to years past, where funding tended to build a bit more gradually, 2026 is pacing ahead. The early surge points to a sustained interest from backers and a pipeline of projects that are reaching and resonating with the right audiences.
