Our top winter photography tips
Invest in a good bag
Don’t skimp on a padded camera bag with a rain cover (or weatherproofing). Use resealable bags to protect smaller gear.
Adjust your white balance
Light reflecting off snow can often play tricks, so set your white balance manually for the best accuracy, or play around with programmed presets for the look you’re aiming for.
Use a lens filter
Not only will a filter protect your lens in harsh or wet conditions, but they can help counteract some effects you may find undesirable. UV filters can reduce haze, and polarizing filters can reduce glare from sunlight on snow and enhance colors and detail.
