Introducing The Hodinkee Exclusive G-SHOCK 'Carbon Fiber Light'

Several exciting new arrivals from G-SHOCK have just landed in the Hodinkee Shop.

The G-SHOCK 'Carbon Fiber Light' sees the brand unites forces with Mizuno Technics to give the strap of its original tough watch a carbon fiber and titanium upgrade – available for the first time in the United States exclusively in the Hodinkee Shop.

In celebration of G-SHOCK's 41st birthday, the G5600BG 'Back To G-SHOCK' is crafted out of recycled resin and takes the GW-5600 model we all know and love and gives it a twist that speaks to G-SHOCKs commitment to environmental change.

GWS5600U-1 'Carbon Fiber Light'

While the GWS5600U-1 maintains the essential style of the original G-SHOCK, this new model demonstrates a masterful mixing of material that sets it apart from the pack despite its familiar looks. Developed in collaboration with Mizuno Technics, carbon fiber has been inserted into many of the resin and metal elements, boosting the overall tensile durability. This unique technique has been utilized in the black textured band, around the spring bar, and the metal ring and its surroundings. For other metallic elements such as the back cover, side buttons, and latch, titanium has been used, chosen for its lightweight feel and rugged resistance.

G-SHOCK celebrates its birthday with a limited edition of its original DW-5600 series made of recycled waste resin. The DW’s robust case, attractive design, and multitude of functions make it the perfect everyday or sports watch. With all the utility packed into such an affordable package, it’s no wonder that folks doing some of the toughest jobs in the world depend upon G-SHOCKs such as the DW series. Now, in part of G-SHOCKs annual birthday bash, the brand has reimagined its original tough watch to be as sustainable as it is robust and reliable, crafting its bezel and band in recycled resin.
