The 25 institutions we included represent the best of the best. Some are older than me. A few are what we consider to be the new vanguard. All of them have the power to invoke that intangible spirit of hope and clarity that only exceptional art can, transforming us as we stand in their spaces.

The list itself, for us, is a celebration—of the artists and curators who help light our lives and imbue them with meaning.
