| Tomorrow at 11 a.m. ET Keegan Bradley will announce his six picks for the 2025 Ryder Cup team. While the golf world holds its breath, we have clues. Our Undercover Pro is a former member of American teams who dishes on the weird pressures captains face from sponsors, TV, agencies and more in “The Not Always Pretty Truth About Captain’s Picks.”
Even closer to the source, our editorial team recently spent time with Bradley to shoot this cover story for our Ryder Cup Issue. While the man who’d finish 11th in the standings was coy about whether he’d pick himself, he was forthcoming in his interview with senior writer Joel Beall about his approach to being captain. “One of the best parts of the job has been getting to know the guys better,” Bradley said, yet “I now know why general managers on sports teams don’t get close to players.”

Applicable to all high-pressure situations—from playing on Ryder Cup Sunday to a $10 Nassau with your buddies—Keegan shared with us his very practical methods for swinging freely under pressure.

As for the prospect of becoming the only U.S. playing-captain in history since Arnold Palmer in 1963, I argue there are even further links between The King and Keegan. In part, whether from chopping wood or shoveling snow, there’s a certain fierceness of homegrown golf swings that only comes out of the Northeast.

Lastly, when you get the physical magazine in your hand, be sure to scan the cover’s QR code to initiate an AR (augmented reality) experience. It’s the first one in Golf Digest cover history, and it’s pretty darn trippy!

P.S. Register here for a chance to win a signed blowup cover from Keegan.
