Most golfers think the difference between their swing and a pro’s is huge.
But it’s not as big a difference as you might think.
Golf Digest Best in State Teacher Adam Young has spent his career studying the micro-mechanics of the golf swing—the tiny adjustments that happen at high speed around impact. These are too small to see with the naked eye, but they determine the fate of the shot you’re trying to hit.
As Adam explains:
“When that person hits a hot hook left and it goes 45 yards left, the face has probably only been three, four degrees more closed than normal,” Young says. “You’re not actually that far away from what a pro is doing. It’s half a degree in clubface angle.”
The good news is that you can get better at this stuff by varying your practice. Hitting different clubs every shot; trying to hit different parts of the clubface; trying to hit specific grooves.
They sound strange at first, but they’re some serious consistency-boosting methods that work...
