There’s something about May that feels collectively optimistic.* The light stays longer. Calendars begin filling again. People re-emerge slightly overdressed for 72 degrees.
*At maude, we like to think the return of exposed knees and long weekends also reminds people they have an intimate life (helpful, considering intimacy has been linked to increased dopamine, better sleep and lower stress, but we digress).
