A Note From Mélanie

Hi there,

Mélanie here, Founder + CEO of Ghia.

Spring is almost here (finally), and with it, that particular lightness I always look forward to. Here's what's been on my mind lately.

I'm planning to go see the Domenico Gnoli show and really looking forward to it - I missed his show in Milan a few years ago and have been kicking myself since!
Something I've been working on with my team, from now until the 22nd, every Apéritif order comes with a a Free Pour Spout and our Label Stickers. I use them all over my apartment, on olive oil bottles, little jars, and decanted drinks in the fridge. They make everything a hint chicer.
I'm heading upstate this weekend for the opening of the new Pocketbook hotel in Hudson. On the itinerary: Dinner at Stissing House, ever-delicious and a proud Ghia account since day one, and breakfast at Mel The Bakery (their Rugbrod is my absolute favorite).
I'm reading Cleopatra and Frankenstein, by Coco Mellors. It’s a bit dark, but very good. There's something fun about reading a book set in your own city. Recognizing the streets and corners... mes “points de repère”.
I'm completely obsessed with the colorful curtains Sybille Berger makes using Kvadrat fabric. I love when Instagram / the algorithm take me to places like these.
I got a jar of the Flamingo Estate strawberries, and wow. Beware... they're an expensive addiction.
I made my very first pissaladière of the season this week. It's a recipe from my cookbook, Riveria, and one of my favorite recipes overall. Fishwife anchovies and lots (and lots) of verrrrrry slowly cooked onions. The perfect pair with a Spritz.
I spotted the first forced rhubarb at the market this week. Spring is undoubtedly coming. Rhubarb is my favorite spring treat (fine, maybe with ramps) and I like to cook it down into a tart compote, I add to morning oatmeals.
