Don Harmon

Elected Illinois Senate President in January 2020, Don Harmon has focused on restoring public trust and stabilizing state finances. He guided the Senate through the COVID-19 pandemic, pioneering remote meetings and securing six balanced budgets and nine credit upgrades. A senator since 2002, Harmon advocates for early childhood education, civil rights, and renewable energy.

Emanuel “Chris” Welch

Speaker Welch has represented Illinois’s 7th District since 2013 and was elected Speaker of the House in 2021. Known for championing education reform and immigrant rights, he has sponsored laws like the Illinois Trust Act and led initiatives to diversify corporate boards. Welch, a partner at Ancel Glink law firm, lives with his family in Illinois and is committed to community advancement.
