The Belgian striker earned his second appearance on the MLS Team of the Matchday in 2026 after tying the Fire record for most consecutive games with a goal, tallying his fifth and sixth of the season against Cincinnati. In the 26th minute, winger Philip Zinckernagel sent a cross to the top of the box, where Cuypers touched the ball into the air and sent a half volley toward goal that bounced under goalkeeper Roman Celentano and into the net. Mbokazi’s Team of the Matchday mention is the first of his career and comes after the team earned a second consecutive shutout at home in which he made a goal-line clearance to keep the score at zero.
