Chicago Fire FC Acquires South African Winger Puso Dithejane

Chicago Fire FC has acquired winger Puso Dithejane from TS Galaxy F.C. of South Africa’s Betway Premiership. The 21-year-old will occupy a U-22 Initiative slot and an international roster position, with a contract running through the 2029–30 season and a Club option for 2030–31. Dithejane joins the Fire after two seasons with TS Galaxy, where he made 63 appearances across all competitions and recorded four goals and four assists during the 2025–26 season. Chicago Fire FC Acquires Goalkeeper Josh Cohen

Chicago Fire FC has acquired goalkeeper Josh Cohen as a free agent. The 33-year-old is under contract with the Club through June 2027, with a Club option for the 2027–28 season. Cohen joins the Fire after stints with Atlanta United FC and Maccabi Haifa, where he helped win three consecutive Israeli Premier League titles and gained UEFA Champions League experience. Chicago Fire Foundation to Host 2026 Annual Season Kickoff Luncheon Presented by Magellan Corporation

The Chicago Fire Foundation will host its 2026 Annual Season Kickoff Luncheon on Tuesday, February 17, at Swissôtel Chicago. Presented by Magellan Corporation, the event will give fans their first opportunity to meet the full 2026 Chicago Fire First Team and coaching staff while supporting the Foundation’s P.LA.Y.S. Program. The luncheon will feature a welcome reception, silent auction, and formal program celebrating the Club’s resurgence and excitement heading into the 2026 season.

Chicago Fire FC Mutually Agrees to Part Ways with Kellyn Acosta

Chicago Fire FC announced the Club and midfielder Kellyn Acosta have mutually agreed to part ways. Acosta joined the Fire as a free agent in February 2024 and made 53 appearances over two seasons, recording three goals and three assists. A veteran of the U.S. Men’s National Team, Acosta featured in the 2022 FIFA World Cup and played a key role in qualification. Chicago Fire FC Trades Homegrown Defender Justin Reynolds to Sporting Kansas City

Justin Reynolds has been traded to Sporting Kansas City in exchange for Sporting KC’s natural 2028 MLS SuperDraft third-round pick and up to $100,000 in General Allocation Money, contingent on performance-based incentives. Chicago Fire FC will also retain a percentage of any future transfer fee should Reynolds be permanently transferred outside of MLS.
