Chicago Fire FC has acquired winger Puso Dithejane from TS Galaxy F.C. of South Africa’s Betway Premiership. The 21-year-old will occupy a U-22 Initiative slot and an international roster position, with a contract running through the 2029–30 season and a Club option for 2030–31. Dithejane joins the Fire after two seasons with TS Galaxy, where he made 63 appearances across all competitions and recorded four goals and four assists during the 2025–26 season. Chicago Fire FC has acquired goalkeeper Josh Cohen as a free agent. The 33-year-old is under contract with the Club through June 2027, with a Club option for the 2027–28 season. The Chicago Fire Foundation will host its 2026 Annual Season Kickoff Luncheon on Tuesday, February 17, at Swissôtel Chicago. Chicago Fire FC announced the Club and midfielder Kellyn Acosta have mutually agreed to part ways. Acosta joined the Fire as a free agent in February 2024 and made 53 appearances over two seasons, recording three goals and three assists. A veteran of the U.S. Men’s National Team, Acosta featured in the 2022 FIFA World Cup and played a key role in qualification. Justin Reynolds has been traded to Sporting Kansas City in exchange for Sporting KC’s natural 2028 MLS SuperDraft third-round pick and up to $100,000 in General Allocation Money, contingent on performance-based incentives. Chicago Fire FC will also retain a percentage of any future transfer fee should Reynolds be permanently transferred outside of MLS.
