Not just because the best produce and ingredients have a short window, but because the way we cook changes with them.
Summer, to me, is: heirloom tomatoes, sweet corn, basil, peaches, and long dinners outside. So we've been taking special care to curate our selections and introduce new, limited products that meet the season where it is, because the best ideas often come from paying attention to what's already happening around us.
In June, we launched The Mediterranean Duo, a divine pairing of Greek and Italian-grown and pressed oils made for the kind of cooking that makes summer feel like a vacation: fresh salads, grilled fish, good bread, and lingering dinners with friends and family that stretch well into the night. Castelvatrano has long been in my heart, but dare I say Kalamata is my new favorite - it’s bold, lush, and full-bodied in a way that surprises me every time I pour it. We’re almost sold out of this limited capsule, so consider this your sign to grab yours before it’s gone!
The Summer Flavor Duo is a another limited pairing: Ardor Chili Olive Oil and Arise Basil Olive Oil that bring the perfect balance of gentle heat and bright, garden-fresh basil to make my farmer’s market haul sing: heirloom tomatoes wake up with a quick drizzle, and peak season corn, stone fruit, and summer squash take on new life coming off the grill. Someone always inevitably asks, “How does this taste so good”? I shrug and offer another drizzle of whatever’s on the table.
And in late summer, as the August heat settles in, we have something coming that speaks exactly to that feeling: warm, complex, with a depth that only the hottest part of the year could inspire. More on that very soon… 🌶️
The thing connecting all of it is something we've been thinking about a lot: what does it mean to operate seasonally, like nature does? To move with the moment instead of against it? To let the strawberries tell you when it's time, instead of a spreadsheet?
There's something liberating about letting nature lead the way. About asking "what would be joyful?" alongside "what do our customers want right now?" The answer, more often than not, turns out to be the same thing. And if 2026 is any indication, we are just getting started. 🫒
I am so grateful to our lean, nimble team (of all women!), our farm partners - all based here in California, and of course, the original visionary – Mother Nature herself!
Warmly,
Aishwarya
